Dopo un battage durato mesi, apre i battenti il tanto atteso megastore di Valentino che ha segnato lo sbarco in Piazza di Spagna dell'Emiro del Qatar. Al di là degli investimenti immobiliari, sta di fatto che la nuova operazione ha portato alla città il restauro di un intero isolato e dello storico palazzo che da sempre ospita l'atelier di Alta Moda e gli uffici. Artefice del progetto della nuova boutique è l'Archistar David Chipperfield e il suo studio che hanno curato anche l'allestimento delle molte altre boutiques del marchio già aperte nel mondo. Il nuovo intervento ha segnato una decisiva svolta nella scelta del layout dei negozi che è diventato decisamente più moderno e contemporaneo e certamente molto più personale e riconoscibile! Molti tuttavia hanno storto il naso considerando la nuova tipologia poco "Valentino" e troppo omologata e internazionale...Noi l'abbiamo sicuramente apprezzata e, fatta eccezione per alcuni elementi forse un pò troppo freddi, abbiamo trovato particolarmente riuscito il contrasto tra la "base" grigio-azzurra i mobili in legno chiaro e gli elementi in oro e vetro.
I mille metri quadrati su tre piani verranno inaugurati ufficialmente a luglio in occasione della sfilata di alta moda che eccezionalmente si terrà a Roma.
